Group members will be challenged to examine their lives and their relationship with God. They will learn that Jesus Christ is the only way to reach God and that good deeds, church attendance and personal effort will not ensure eternal security.
Puffy clouds, harps and halos. This session dispels the myth that heaven will be a boring place to spend eternity. Using biblical accounts, heaven is presented as an active, joyful and desirable destination.
Is hell real? Your group will learn that hell indeed is an actual place, and hear the Bible’s terrifying descriptions of the eternal existence there. This session also tackles the often-asked question “If God is a loving God, why would He send anyone to hell?”
Participants will learn how to eliminate all uncertainty about their eternal future. They will see how God’s original plan for intimacy was broken by sin—and how the ensuing gap between God and man can be bridged through Jesus Christ.
The role of personal repentance and God’s forgiveness is presented as the key to restoring intimacy with Him. Your group will see how the resurrection of Jesus Christ represents the defeat of death.
Are there other spiritual options or religious beliefs that will allow people to reach God? New age beliefs claim that there are many paths to God. Your group will learn how to use the Bible to differentiate the genuine from the counterfeit.
Is it possible to reach beyond death and communicate with the afterlife? Are near-death experiences a reliable source of information about what happens when a person dies? Our culture places credibility on these kinds of mystical accounts. Your group will learn to apply a biblical filter to these issues.
This session will wipe out any perceptions of the Bible as an archaic or irrelevant source of information. It is presented as an essential guide to everyday living and as the only reliable guide to what happens when we die.
Many people live their lives under the assumption that all go to a “good place” after they die. This session counters with a presentation of the events leading to eternity as described in the book of Revelation. Compelling descriptions of the return of Christ and judgment are presented to encourage each group member to make sure his or her eternal destiny is resolved.
Success, busyness and a myriad of diversions keep many from examining deep spiritual issues. Others are angry at God or actively resisting Him. This session helps group members identify those barriers that may ultimately prevent them from spending eternity with God.
Resolving eternal destiny can immeasurably improve the quality of earthly existence. This session will help your group members identify and utilize a set of spiritual “tools,” including prayer, Bible study and church participation as a means to gaining intimacy with God and living a more fulfilled life.
The pursuit of intimacy with God is a lifelong effort. Your group will learn of obstacles to be encountered in that pursuit as well as the rewards of persevering. This final session is a joyful, hopeful celebration of the eternal certainty that accompanies a decision to follow Christ.
