The
Facing Forever curriculum package includes 13 video sessions on DVD designed
to serve as a catalyst for lively group discussion. These innovative sessions
average 25 minutes in length and are filled with information that will
challenge group members to consider their own mortality and eternal status.
Here is a description of each session:
Session
1: Facing Your Forever (Preview this
session!)
Many people are uncomfortable and even fearful about their mortality and
what lies beyond the grave. In this session we will discuss why people
tend to avoid the topics of death, dying and their own mortality. Most
importantly, viewers will learn how knowledge about these issues can add
hope and meaning to their earthly existence.

Session 2: Spiritual Checkup
In this session we encourage participants to examine their lives and their
relationship with God. Group members will learn that Jesus Christ is the
only way to reach God and that good deeds, church attendance and personal
effort will not ensure eternal security.
Session 3: Heaven
Puffy clouds, harps and halos. This session will dispel the common impression
that heaven will be a boring place to spend eternity. Using biblical accounts,
heaven is presented as an active, joyful and desirable destination.
Session 4: What About Hell?
In our culture, many people do not believe in a literal hell. Your group
will learn that hell is an actual place and hear the Bibles terrifying
descriptions of the eternal existence there. We address the often-asked
question If God is a loving God, why would He send anyone to hell?
Session 5: Finding Forever (part 1)
This important session takes your group on a journey to discover how each
person can be sure of an eternal existence with God in heaven. The group
will see how Gods original plan for intimacy was broken by sin and
how the ensuing gap between God and man can be bridged through Jesus Christ.
Session 6: Finding Forever (part 2)
Repentance happens when we stop running from God and turn and move in
His direction. Continuing on the themes of the previous session, your
group will see how personal repentance and Gods forgiveness are
key to restoring intimacy with Him. We will also explore how the resurrection
of Jesus Christ represents the defeat of death.
Session 7: Many Paths To God?
Are there other spiritual options or religious beliefs that will allow
people to reach God? New age beliefs claim that there are many paths to
God. Your group will learn how to use the Bible to differentiate the genuine
from the counterfeit.
Session 8: Peeking Behind the Curtain
Is it possible to reach beyond death and communicate with the afterlife?
Are near-death experiences a reliable source of information about what
happens when a person dies? Our culture places credibility on these kinds
of mystical accounts. Your group will learn how to evaluate such information
through a biblical filter.
Session 9: Road Map To Eternity
This session will dispel any perceptions of the Bible as an archaic or
irrelevant source of information. It is presented as an essential guide
to everyday living and as the only reliable guide to what happens when
we die.
Session 10: Eternity Revealed
Many people live their lives under the assumption that all go to a good
place after they die. This session counters with a presentation
of the events leading to eternity as described in the book of Revelation.
Compelling descriptions of the return of Christ and judgment are presented
to encourage resolution of personal eternal destiny.
Session 11: Roadblocks To Eternity
Success, busyness and a myriad of diversions keep many people from examining
deep spiritual issues. Others are angry at God or actively resisting Him.
This session helps group members identify those barriers which may ultimately
prevent them from
spending eternity with God.
Session 12: Living Forever Now
Resolving eternal destiny can impact the quality of earthly existence.
This session will help your group members identify and utilize a set of
spiritual tools, including prayer, Bible study and church
participation as a means to gaining intimacy with God and living a more
fulfilled life.
Session 13: The Journey Continues
The pursuit of intimacy with God is a lifelong effort. Your group will
learn of obstacles to be encountered in that pursuit as well as the rewards
of persevering. This final session is a joyful, hopeful celebration of
the eternal certainty that accompanies a decision to follow Christ.
